A Guiding Light, After Our Diagnosis

From a Hospital Specialty Pharmacy Patient – Today, I’d like to share my experience as a parent whose child is a patient of your specialty liaison, Jonathan. After sharing my 15-year-old son’s healthcare story at a support group meeting one evening last year, Jonathan reached out to me privately and offered his assistance. Because my son’s diagnosis and treatment were new to us, Jonathan took his time to make sure we got answers to ALL of our questions, and much more.

What did he do for us? To start, Jonathan literally made us a step-by-step list of all the things we had to do and when we had to do them. Jonathan then assisted me with physician referrals and made sure we had the proper ones in place before my son’s medication therapy started. He helped schedule our first appointment with Dr. C., which normally takes months to secure. But we were given an appointment right away. Jonathan also obtained copay assistance for the out-of-pocket costs of my son’s medication.

At the outset of treatment, Jonathan stuck by us. He called to ensure everything was going well, and he has continued to do so throughout the entire course of treatment. Jonathan has truly been the best person to work with. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. He has a heart of gold.

As a parent who came into my son’s diagnosis knowing very little, I am super appreciative and grateful for all of his help. Jonathan has gone above and beyond, and he’s helped our entire family with this very difficult journey. There is no pharmacy support like this anywhere in the country.
