Geoff McHugh
Chief Commercial Officer
As Chief Commercial Officer, Geoff leads the Business Development, Health System Strategy, and Health System Experience teams. He is responsible for driving commercial growth, expanding strategic health system partnerships, and delivering value across Shields’ growing network.
Geoff has more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience. Prior to joining Shields in 2026, he served as Chief Customer Officer at Evolent, leading strategic health plan partnerships and specialty provider engagement. Previously, he was Chief Growth Officer at New Century Health and Chief Commercial Officer at Docent Health. He also spent 15 years with The Advisory Board Company, advising health system leaders on growth and performance strategy.
Known for building strong partnerships and high-performing teams, Geoff brings deep expertise in healthcare commercialization and a collaborative approach to leadership. He is passionate about helping health systems improve performance, expand access to care, and deliver better patient outcomes.
Geoff holds a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University and lives in San Francisco with his wife and children.
