Working for Shields Health Solutions
Not necessarily. While many of our clinical roles require pharmacy credentials, we also have a wide range of operational, technology, and corporate positions that don't require a clinical background. See our open positions for a full range of opportunities.
We believe interviews should be a two-way conversation. Our process typically starts with a conversation with our Talent Acquisition team, followed by meetings with the hiring manager and team members. Some positions may include a skill assessment or additional interviews. Throughout the process, we’ll keep you informed, answer your questions, and provide insight into what it’s like to work at Shields, so you can determine whether it’s the right fit for you.
Candidates who stand out are collaborative team players who are patient focused, adaptable, and curious. We look for individuals with a growth mindset — those who embrace innovation, welcome new ideas, and are willing to learn, evolve, and contribute beyond their immediate role.
It depends on the role. Clinical positions embedded in health systems are typically on-site, while many operational and corporate roles offer hybrid flexibility, or are fully remote. Each job posting includes location and work arrangement details.
To maintain a fair, secure, and respectful hiring process, we conduct identity, credential, and reference verification at key stages of recruitment.
All candidates can expect:
Live video interviews to support a personal and authentic experience
Identity verification may be required at appropriate stages of the hiring process, consistent with applicable law
Verification of job-related licenses or certifications, when required by law
Reference checks, background and drug screening prior to hire (for required roles, where permitted by law)
Screening is conducted after appropriate stage-based notices and authorizations, consistent with applicable law and role requirements. These steps help protect candidates, employees, and the people we serve while ensuring a consistent and equitable hiring process for everyone.
Shields offers growth opportunities across clinical, operational, and corporate functions. Many team members start in patient-facing roles and advance into leadership roles, training positions, or specialized clinical positions over time. We're committed to promoting from within and investing in long-term career development.
Eligible employees receive a benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid holidays, and paid time off.
Training generally varies by role and may include classroom, systems, and hands-on components. For our clinical employees, training is normally 6 weeks and includes a classroom week, system learning week, and hands-on training with current employees. Training for non-clinical roles is department specific.
Shields offers something rare: the opportunity to do meaningful clinical or operational work inside a mission-driven company that's genuinely changing outcomes for patients with complex conditions. Our Culture of Kindness isn't a tagline. It's how we hire, how we lead, and how we show up for each other every day.
Bring your talents to a team that's redefining what's possible in specialty pharmacy. Explore careers at Shields and help us build better outcomes together.
