As Chief Information Officer of Shields Health Solutions, Dan leads enterprise technology strategy, operations, and investment to power the company’s growth, scale, and differentiation. A trusted partner to executive leadership and health system stakeholders, he translates business strategy into technology-enabled solutions that improve patient access, elevate clinical and operational performance, and unlock data‑driven insights. Under his leadership, Shields continues to modernize its core platforms while thoughtfully leveraging artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to automate workflows, strengthen decision-making, and advance its industry‑leading specialty pharmacy model.
Over more than a decade at Shields, Dan has held multiple senior technology leadership roles, including Chief Technology Officer, and has been instrumental in shaping the company’s differentiated technology platform and operating model. He built and scaled the teams and systems that power Shields’ analytics, engineering, and product capabilities, and led the development of flagship platforms including TelemetryRx™, Shields’ integrated specialty pharmacy workflow system, and 340B IQ™, an advanced analytics and 340B program management platform. These innovations have strengthened partner integration, improved scalability, and created a durable foundation for continued innovation, including the responsible application of advanced analytics, generative AI, and automation across the specialty pharmacy lifecycle.
Prior to joining Shields, Dan was an Associate at T3 Advisors, where he consulted for high‑growth healthcare and technology companies. Earlier in his career, he spent four years in the National Football League after being drafted by the New England Patriots, following his service on the leadership committee of the University of Notre Dame football team.
Dan holds a B.A. from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame.
